Pastor Jim Cymbala Quotes / Devotional

1.If we want only white people or black people or young people or people who are middle class or folks with a certain level of education among us, then let’s not call ourselves a Christian church; because Christ died for everyone.

2. Our future security has nothing to do with the pension plan we were smart enough to negotiate or the money we have accumulated in our bank account or the graduate degree we just earned. Our trust has to be in the Lord; he alone is our security.

3.The prospect of a violent physical death was not what caused Jesus so much anguish that he asked the Father to take the cup of suffering from him. What was it that so horrified & repulsed Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane?

4.Are you facing an attack of discouragement today? If so, call on the Lord; and he will answer you. He will be a shield around you, and the lifter of your head, just as he was for the Psalmist David.

5.God is the lifter of our heads when we’re down and out; and we’re disappointed in ourselves; and we’re sick and tired of being sick and tired; and the enemy is saying, “You’re not going to make it”; and the attack is like a current pulling us down.

6. Don’t we want our children to grow up around the kind of faith that one day will prompt them to say, NOT “My parents bought me new sneakers,” BUT RATHER, “My mother and father trusted God”? THAT’S the heritage we should want to leave them.

Scriptures to read while fasting

Scriptures to read while fasting

There are many, many instances in the Bible that refer to fasting. It was not some doctrine made up by Catholics along the way. When you meditate on the Mysteries of the Rosary, the Sorrowful Mysteries in particular it refers to the mocking of Jesus by Christians when they invent their own doctrines at their convenience. Pope Francis Cancels the Bible and Proposes to Create a new Book

The word of God is infallible, inerrant and eternal. There is no human being with the power to change what God says in His Word.

The devil throughout the ages has tried in vain to change or destroy it. The New World Order will not succeed in its efforts to deceive the world with its One world religion of the Antichrist. The devil is defeated his conspiracy is doomed to failure.

The New World Order is planning in our immediate future to establish One World Government, One World Economy, One World Religion with a new Bible. It’s time to heed God’s warning against changing His Word :

“If any man shall take away from the words of this book or prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things that are written in this book.“ Revelation 22:19

Hide the word of God in your heart and hang on to your Bible.
Christians are becoming the most endangered species on earth. Here is the video article:

A Quiet Place Movie Review

A Quiet Place Movie Review

Saw the movie “A Quiet Place” which is currently at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I can see why.

The film is one of the most clever thrillers and original story-lines I’ve seen in years, and it’s well crafted and laid out. No spoilers, but a sudden ending is my only minor issue with an otherwise flawless film. Not even the teenagers sitting next to us, who clearly took “420 blaze it” seriously before coming to the theater, could ruin my enjoyment of it.

The movie is more thriller than horror by today’s standards, because it lacks the over-the-top profanity, sexuality, and gore that substitutes for a good scare in much of our modern horror movies. It’s more of an old-school Hitchcock thriller or Vincent Price creature feature than today’s torture porn pretending to be horror. Minus such objectionable content, it’s suitable for older children. Younger children might be too scared by its intensity.

The film’s hero is also the traditional family and gender roles. Both mom and dad, played by actors who are married in real life, play their parts splendidly and heroically. Masculine and feminine complement each other perfectly, and it’s made clear their children need them both.

Foursquare gospel church : Influence of Christianity

Foursquare gospel church : Influence of Christianity

Jesus said, “I’ve come down from heaven.” Every major religion talks about working your way up to heaven. Christianity is unique in that God came down from heaven to man.

He bridges the gap. He was the initiator. He is the reconciler. That’s why Christianity is the most influential force in the world today. And it’s the only way in which lives are radically transformed from brokenness to wholeness. U.S.A.

Today just reported we are now incarcerating more women than ever around the world. Our answer is to lock people up, to contain their problem, with no real possibility of change or help. It only serves to stigmatize people, and break up their families.

Jesus’ answer is to set them free and liberate them from the chains that enslave them, whether it’s drugs, abuse, poor self-esteem, or neglect. Jesus is the only hope for our broken world. And the Church is His messenger of that Good News.

Joyce Meyer Defends Tattoos, Says She Might Get One to Make Religious People Mad

During a recent conference, Christian speaker Joyce Meyer made a biblical case for getting tattoos and admitted she has been thinking of getting one herself just to shut the mouths of religious people.

The video clip posted by Joyce Meyer Ministries on March 14 kicks off with Meyer explaining the difference between being holy and religious.

“Holiness is not legalism,” Meyer declared.

She went on to explain that religious people have made a mess of holiness by putting a bunch of rules and regulations on people. She listed drinking, dancing, wearing makeup and more among those rules.

Meyer quoted Isaiah 44:5 in defense of getting permanent markings. The scripture says, “One will say, I am the Lord’s; and another will call himself by the name of Jacob; and another will write [even brand or tattoo] upon his hand, I am the Lord’s, and surname himself by the [honorable] name of Israel.”

She also shared the counterargument often used to discourage believers from getting tattoos found in Leviticus 19:28: “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD.”

Televangelist Pat Robertson, among others, has cited Leviticus to argue that getting tattoos is a “heathen practice.”

“You look at the Bible, the people are told not to mark their bodies and cut themselves like the heathen did. Tattooing is a heathen practice, it is not a Christian practice,” Robertson said in 2016.

But Meyer rejected the argument and contended that God also tattooed those He loves to Himself.

“The Bible says in Isaiah 49 that God has a picture of you tattooed on the palm of His hand,” she maintained.

“I’m right on the verge of going and getting a tattoo,” she added, pointing to her shoulder blade. “I thought I might as well just push all the religious people right off the cliff and just get it over with.”

Houston pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, other man accused of defrauding $3.4M from investors

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – Renowned Houston pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell and another man are accused of defrauding investors of millions of dollars in exchange for Chinese bonds that had no value, according to a federal indictment.
Caldwell, senior pastor at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, and Gregory Alan Smith, a former broker and financial planner, are facing nine violations from the Securities and Exchange Commission out of Louisiana.
According to court documents, Caldwell and Smith duped at least 29 people into buying bonds for a total of $3.4 million between April 2013 and August 2014.
The pair told investors that the historical Chinese bonds, which reportedly have been in default since 1939 and aren’t recognized by the current Chinese government, could provide exorbitant, risk-free returns on their investments and that the bonds would be sold by Caldwell to a third party or redeemed by the Chinese government, court documents state.
The indictment states Smith secured the victims due to his connections to prospective investors, whom he told he was an investment advisor and had personally invested hundreds of thousands in the deal.
Caldwell then told investors to wire the money to a bank account controlled by his attorney or an account of a limited liability company of which he is a member, the indictment reads. Caldwell is accused of then transferring the money to his personal account, the personal account of Smith or a Mexican business associate.
Caldwell and Smith promised investors they would be paid and offered a wide range of ‘excuses,’ according to court documents.
Caldwell, 64, received $760,000, which he used for personal expenses, including mortgage payments, the indictment claims.
Caldwell’s limited liability company also received $1 million, of which $175,000 was transferred to Caldwell, according to the indictment.
Smith, 55, received $1 million of investor funds which he used for luxury vehicles.
None of the investors received any money back, according to the court documents.
In 2012, a celebration was held for Caldwell at Windsor Village United Methodist Church.
The celebration was held in honor of the pastor, who had served them with 30 years of service.
Caldwell, a third generation Houstonian, said he was honored to be a part of the church for so long.
Caldwell gained national notoriety when President George W. Bush made him his spiritual advisor.
Through Caldwell’s help, Windsor Village grew tremendously from a small southwest Houston church to one of the biggest in the city.
